Jens Streit

Jens commenced practice as a barrister in Queensland in March 2012 and his practice spans State and Federal jurisdictions. He represents clients in trials and hearings in the areas of:

  • Criminal law;
  • Inquests and inquiries;
  • Public administrative law, including judicial review;
  • Disciplinary proceedings;
  • Family law; and
  • Domestic violence law.

In addition to appearing in court proceedings, Jens is experienced in appearing as counsel in public/private inquiries and corruption investigations, including as counsel assisting.

Jens commenced practising as a barrister and solicitor in Tasmania in 1998 before accepting a commission as an Army legal officer in the Australian Defence Force. Jens served for 12 years in various legal postings in Australia and overseas.

Jens holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Tasmania.

He is a part-time (sessional) member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
