Iris was called to the Bar in 2019 and moved from the Employed to the Private Bar in 2021.

Iris has a broad litigation practice, primarily in child protection, family and guardianship, domestic violence, human rights and administrative law. Iris is one of few Counsel at the private bar experienced in both prosecuting and defending applications for child protection orders.

Since 2013, Iris has worked as a government lawyer and administrative decision-maker, appearing before specialist courts and tribunals and providing legal and policy advice across a range of child protection, mental health and disability related matters.

Most recently, Iris worked as a senior lawyer for the Office of the Director of Child Protection Litigation, litigating applications for child protection orders on behalf of the State of Queensland.

Iris’ background includes working with clients from marginalised backgrounds and those suffering from impaired capacity. Iris also speaks Serbian fluently.
